E-learning modules

Four e-learning modules have been designed to help suppliers build skills and knowledge of key responsible business practices. They target the most common non-compliances found at audit (according to data stored on the Sedex system) and build on content from the Sedex Supplier Workbook. The development of the modules has been funded by the sustainable trade initiative IDH as part of the Sustainability Initiative fruits and vegetables program (SIFAV2020).

Each module features the following elements:

  1. Defining the issue – what does it mean? What are the ethical trade requirements as defined by the ILO and ETI Base Code?
  2. Business benefits – why do it?
  3. Non-compliances – what are the most common issues found at audit?
  4. Achieving and maintaining standards – giving step by step guidance to help meet the standards required
  5. Case study – managing the issue in practice
  6. Knowledge check – interactive quiz so participants can test what they have learned during the module. Results of the quiz suggest whether further actions are required and give links to additional information

There are four modules in the series – just click on the title to access the module:

  1. Labour management systems, and how these can be used to achieve business objectives, including social responsibility
  2. Regular employment, and how respecting workers’ rights to regular employment will help businesses stay within the law, avoid penalties and meet customers’ requirements
  3. Health and safety management systems, and the many benefits this can bring to businesses, including improving corporate image and reputation
  4. Hazardous materials, and how to ensure policies and procedures keep workers safe

Your feedback: Once you have completed one or more modules please fill out our short survey. Your feedback will help us improve these and future e-learning modules and better support your training needs.
