Richard Boele joins Multi-Stakeholder Advisory Group
On 2 June, 2017, Julie Bishop, the Minister for Foreign Affairs for Australia announced the establishment of a Multi-Stakeholder Advisory Group for the implementation on the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights.
This advisory group will provide expert advice to support government and business to work together to improve human rights, including reviewing existing laws, policies and best practices relevant to the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights.
One of the members of this advisory group is Richard Boele, Partner at KPMG Banarra. This comes as exciting news, as Sedex and KPMG Australia recently announced a strategic alliance to help strengthen sustainable supply chains in Australia, by supporting Australian businesses to manage responsible and ethical sourcing risks.
Sedex and KPMG Australia have already seen collaborative action: firstly, at the annual Conference held in London in April 2017, where Richard Boele facilitated a panel discussion on ‘Changing business practices: guidance or legislation?’; and secondly, through the Sedex Australia Conference 2017, hosted by KPMG in Sydney, to discuss responsible sourcing in Australia.
