Supplier Training

While many of our Supplier (B) members find all the help they need on the Sedex e-Learning, you may find it useful to attend one of our dedicated training sessions.

Sedex e-Learning is a new platform giving all Sedex members access to a wide range of sustainability resources and training modules to support their responsible sourcing strategy. This includes new training videos for Sedex Advance, the SMETA suite of tools, and additional resources for corporate social responsibility programmes.

 

Supplier Module training sessions

In a ‘Supplier Module’ session you will get an overview of Sedex and guidance on how to use Sedex Advance. The sessions are designed for both new Sedex members and for existing members who would like to get the most from their membership.

Price: Training sessions covering the functionalities of Sedex Advance are free of charge. The new ‘Introduction to SMETA’ course is free of charge for all Sedex members and £100.00 for non-Sedex members.

NEW: Introduction to SMETA

This new live online training session is a two-hour introduction to SMETA, including:

  • Overview of the SMETA methodology and where it sits within Sedex
  • How do auditors use the SMETA documents?
  • Updates within version 6.0
  • Other SMETA tools for members

The session is open to all membership types – Buyer (A), Buyer/Supplier (AB), Supplier (B) and auditors, as well as non-Sedex members.

The session is free of charge for all Sedex members and £100.00 for non-Sedex members.

NEW: SMETA Basic Internal Auditor Training

When you prepare for a SMETA audit, do you know what preparations need to be done beforehand?

NEW: SMETA Advanced Internal Auditor Training

As an internal auditor, do you understand which issues are common issues in SMETA audits and how you can avoid the recurrence of these?

Are you familiar with the laws and regulations that are commonly used in audits and how you can apply them to your internal audits?

Can you write a SMETA 6.0 audit report for your factory after the internal audit is completed?

Training will provide an in-depth understanding of the audit report and the writing of corrective actions, an in-depth interpretation of commonly used laws and regulations, and in-depth sharing of reference practices. The purpose is to let trainees have a deeper understanding of the SMETA audit content, and to consolidate the internal auditor’s comprehensive ability to conduct audits.

This course is suitable for those who have already participated in the SMETA basic internal auditor training course, or who have at least 1 year working experience in social responsibility auditing and are interested in the SMETA audit.
