Need help getting started on Sedex Advance, or want to take your supply chain management to the next level by accessing our Risk Assessment Tool? We have the training course for you.

As a Buyer (A) or Buyer/Supplier (AB) member, you can access to a variety of training sessions to help you get the most from your Sedex membership.

Also, Sedex e-Learning is a new platform giving all Sedex members access to a wide range of sustainability resources and training modules to support their responsible sourcing strategy. This includes new training videos for Sedex Advance, the SMETA suite of tools, and additional resources for corporate social responsibility programmes.

Buyer Module training

Buyer Module training is designed for both new Sedex members and for existing members who would like to get the most from their membership. We recommend attending this interactive session within the first six months of joining Sedex.

The new one hour Buyer Modules:

Buyer Module 1 – Viewing your suppliers’ data on Sedex Advance:

  • How to roll out Sedex to your suppliers
  • How to manage Sedex internally
  • What your suppliers need to do share their information on Sedex Advance
  • How to support your suppliers
  • How to track your suppliers’ self-assessment and audit progress.

Buyer Training Module 2 – Viewing Your Reports

  • How to run reports
  • Track performance
  • Produce & export maps, graphs and charts to understand your supply chain
  • Identify patterns, correlations & trends

Risk Assessment Training

The Sedex Risk Assessment Tool gives you a clear indication of the likelihood of risks occurring in your supply chain. Access to the Tool is only available for Buyer (A) or Buyer/Supplier (AB) members who have attended a Risk Assessment Training session.

The interactive session will help you to manage your supply chain data at a more sophisticated level.

In the two-hour session you will cover:

  • An overview of the Risk Assessment Tool
  • Guidelines on using the Risk Assessment Tool
  • A demonstration of how to use the Tool
  • How to use the Risk Assessment Tool to query self-assessment responses
  • How to communicate risk assessment findings with your suppliers

Introduction to SMETA

This live online training session is a two-hour introduction to SMETA, including:

  • Overview of the SMETA methodology and where it sits within Sedex
  • How do auditors use the SMETA documents?
  • Updates within version 6.0
  • Other SMETA tools for members

The session is open to all membership types – Buyer (A), Buyer/Supplier (AB), Supplier (B) and auditors, as well as non-Sedex members.

Non-members

SMETA Foundation Workshop

This one-day workshop is primarily designed for auditors, but is also useful to anyone with social auditing experience, including ethical trade managers, social compliance managers and internal auditors etc. The session focuses on helping you understand and use the materials available to conduct a SMETA audit.

It is not intended to replace any formal training in social auditing skills. Therefore, the workshop is only open to people who have previously had some auditor skills training and experience of working as an auditor.

To best support our global membership, we have a network of trainers throughout the world who are licensed to deliver the SMETA Foundation Workshop.
