Our member focus looks at the free Eye Camp held annually by Kariwala Industries Ltd, Anil Kariwala writes:
“Like every year, last week, we conducted a free Eye Camp at Falta (where our factory is located). Some 658 people were screened and 70 eye operations were conducted. For 561 odd people, spectacles were distributed. This camp continues to gain a lot of respect from the local community and this time we had people coming from almost 40 villages.
“This year’s camp had some emotional moments. Apart from being dedicated to the memory of my childhood friend who died on Christmas day, we had a 70 year-old man who walked 6 miles to say thank you and give his ‘blessings’, because he was no longer blind and was able to leave his home by himself for the first time in 5 years!”
