We are delighted to announce that we have launched a new risk assessment tool and supplier questionnaire as part of our efforts to drive improvements in global supply chains and reduce duplication in ethical auditing.
The new risk assessment tool, developed in partnership with risk analysis and mapping company Maplecroft and IT partner Enablon, offers comparison and benchmarking functionality and will enable our members to carry out more robust risk assessments on their supply chains.
The enhanced risk assessment tool will include the following benefits:
- ability to visually compare Inherent, SAQ and Audit risk
- enhanced mapping and reporting of risk
- benchmarking of intra & inter supply chain risk
Members will also benefit from enhanced reporting features.
Alongside the new risk assessment tool, we have also launched a significantly shortened, sector specific supplier questionnaire (SAQ), which will reduce the burden on suppliers whilst retaining key questions.
Suppliers use the Sedex SAQ to answer questions about their site of employment on four key areas – Health & Safety, Labour Standards, Environment and Business Practices. They can then share this with multiple customers via the Sedex system.
Carmel Giblin, Sedex General Manager, said “We are constantly looking at ways we can improve the Sedex system to better meet our members’ needs and address the ever-evolving ethical trade landscape. This new functionality will bring significant benefits to all member types and help drive a more effective model for improving standards.”
