Auditors

Auditors do not need to be Sedex members in order to use the Sedex system or complete SMETA audits. There are 3 ways an auditor can interface with the Sedex system:

  • Independent Auditor
  • The Audit Company Group
  • The Associate Auditor Group (AAG)

Both the Audit Company Group and AAG account give extra functionality on the system, including the ability to input audit data from several locations, whilst being able to view all of that audit company data from one central account.

For instructions on how to register as an auditor on the Sedex system please download part 1 of our Auditor Guidance Pack.

Independent auditors

These have their own route for using the Sedex system. To use the system, an independent auditor must be selected by the site who is commissioning the audit. The site must register the auditor’s email address to allow them to access Sedex and create an  auditor account.

Benefits

Independent auditors receive the following benefits:

  • permanent log-in facilities to Sedex (once registered)
  • search function will help suppliers to find your details
  • access to B member self assessment once nominated as an auditor of that member
  • access to non-compliance and other data relating to audit reports uploaded by you
  • no cost attached / free of charge

For more information on using the Sedex system as an auditor please see our Auditor FAQs.

Audit Company Group

As the number of global auditors using  the system has increased, other audit companies are interested in improving their ‘Sedex experience‘.  For this reason, we have created another auditor group – ‘the Audit Company Group’. Membership of this group gives extra functionality on the system.

Benefits

Members of the Audit Company Group receive the following benefits:

  • permanent log-in facilities to Sedex
  • prepopulated email address on the Sedex system, making it easier for a supplier to select you as their chosen auditor
  • access to B member self assessment data once you have been nominated as an audit partner of that member
  • access to non-compliance and other data relating to audit reports uploaded by your own company
  • central view of your own audit company’s audit data
